Deep within the sacred caverns of the Dreamspeakers burns a sacred fire from the depths of prehistory. Guarded by the oldest spirits and dwelling in the most ancient nodes, the Dreamspeakers claim these eternal flames date back to the first fire ever lit by humanity. Kept alight, this flame can be used to carry tass in the form of torches that never burn out until the Quintessence is used, but they also cannot light other fires as long as they are tass. One theory explains that the flames are locked into their pattern by the quintessence. An obscure Dreamspeaker custom is to carry fire to new chantries so that they too may have an eternal flame.
P.S. One blasphemous Son of Ether smokes an eternal cigarette lit by this flame, but pays the price with a point of paradox every week.
