The Schaefer and Harrigan Incidents

Over the week 1-7th July, 1995, the Colombian and Jamaican drug cartels of Los Angeles, the LAPD unit set up to destroy them and a Special Affairs Division Unit headed by William Chapel were all butchered, again by an unknown individual. As before, the killings ended with a protracted duel between one man and the killer. Again, the man in question, Detective Michael Harrigan, won. However, Harrigan's whereabouts are most certainly well known.
Our investigation began at the Ravenscar Mental Institute in West Colorado. Detective Harrigan has been incarcerated there for almost two years now and, when we met him, it's easy to see why. Harrigan is paranoid, aggressive and almost disturbingly fit. Indeed, almost the first thing he did was show us exactly how fit he was, by lifting the orderly, a 23 stone gentleman, off the ground. Before being restrained, he looked at us, smiled and said: "learned that trick from the thing."
Harrigan told us of his experiences with pride, emphasising the "honour" of the duel he fought with the killer. He explained that, unintentionally or not, the killer had instigated brutal gang war by his killing of the Colombian drug lords and this war had only seemed to bring the creature out more, making it far more active than normal. He also stated that the mass killing of almost a hundred commuters, previously thought to be a particularly bloody gang shootout was both provoked and participated in by the killer. He also pointed us towards Detective Marisa Sanchez, a member of his team and still serving on the force.
Sanchez still works out of the 93rd, the precinct Harrigan worked out of, and was only too happy to talk to us. Indeed, she explained at great deal how the "Fucking Feds" had got Jerry Lambert, her partner, and over a hundred others killed. When we explained that we were investigating Summers' actions, she went on to explain what she'd seen in the train. A panicked commuter had pulled a gun on the gang working the train, leading to almost everyone else in the carriage drawing their own weapons. Lambert and Sanchez were diffusing the situation when the killer cut the lights and rampaged through the carriage, killing anyone with a weapon. Lambert pushed Sanchez towards the exit, screaming at her to hurry the commuters out. Looking back, she saw Lambert empty his gun, then hurl it and his lucky golf ball at thin air . Lambert's spine and skull were ripped from his body when it was recovered and they have never been found. Please note the similarities between this and the deaths of Corporal Billy Widehawk and Lt. Mitchell Hoskins in the Special Forces Unit. A new, and I feel, vital factor is added to the case however, by Sanchez' own experiences with the "Predator". It accosted her on the platform, lifting her one handed three feet into the air. It then stared at her chest for a second and then let her go. Detective Sanchez was pregnant at the time, although the baby was miscarried as a result of the shock.
The conclusion that can be drawn from this is clear. The creature is intelligent or, at the very least, discriminating. Either it has a very, very specific criteria with which it selects its opponents or it has ethics of a sort. Either way, Detective Sanchez' experience is one of several which allow us to discern the killer's ideal victim, or rather, those it will not select.
A) The unarmed are safe. Therefore, a person who is armed or capable of defending himself is a viable target (It is worth noting that Carla Fulton, New York State Middleweight Karate Champion was almost certainly killed by one of these creatures. Therefore, it clearly classifies unarmed combat as a viable means of defence.
B) Either women or pregnant women or both are safe. Either way, it seems likely that the killer will not attack those carrying another life {This is complete supposition, although I agree with Shenko's logic}.
As a result of this, and based on the experiences of the Special Forces Unit, it seems possible to construct a profile:
Rigid self control, similar to the warrior monk orders of the Middle East. For him, honour is everything and dictates his every action. He is, in a sense, a very lonely individual; his search for and combat with the opponent is both self-destructive and self-defining. The individual gets an almost religious thrill from combat, becoming a full individual only when engaged in it. As a result, he is both tremendously strong and tremendously weak when involved in it. While he is an incredible fighter, his obsession with single combat often blinds him to other possibilities (Both Schaefer and Harrigan defeated the creature by cunning. Schaefer via a booby trap and Harrigan via "playing dead"). The usage of the self-destruct device would also suggest a need to win, transcending even the honour of single combat. This makes the individual a strange combination of honour driven obsessive and cornered animal. As a result, he is extremely dangerous.
"Rogue Elephants": There have been two cases recently, one on the East Coast and another in Nevada where the creature involved has itself been hunted by another. In these cases, the creature involved has shown notably higher levels of brutality and less regard for the "Honour clause" that the others have shown.
UFO Activity: In both the Harrigan and Schaefer cases, UFO activity has been reported. Indeed, Harrigan claimed he had been aboard the alien vessel, seen numerous others there and their "Trophy case" containing the severed heads of their victims. Whether this is true or not, intermittent UFO activity (Suggestive of "dropping off" the individual) is a common factor in the buildup to Predator activity.
Technology: This, I believe, is ultimate proof that we are dealing with an extra-terrestrial race. The Predators have time and again shown incredible technological advances. Personal, light bending force fields create near-perfect invisibility (Imagine the effectiveness of the device in Awakened Reconnaissance), plasma based weaponry and amazingly small and advanced computer equipment and explosives.
Item: The USS Elkridge, a Special Forces Insertion Vessel was attacked and heavily damaged by three of the creatures. There is evidence that this may have been an act of the "Rogue" Faction encounter twice before.

Basically, the Predators should be played as they are in the films: silent, ruthless and utterly, utterly deadly. In fact, the Kindred are increasingly using them as a "Bogey Man" for Neonates ("Don't kill unnecessarily and don't brag about how tough you are or the Predator will get you.")
Sabbat: Hey! Dreadlock boy! Bring it on!
Garou: They are not of Gaia and cannot be reasoned with. Kill them without mercy, wherever you find them.
Magi: Fascinating technology! If we could only get our hands on one of their computers...
Wraiths: They are of no concern of ours.
Changelings: Ha! A rogue pawn enters the game. Uncontrolled, playing by their own rules, savagely violent. Chaos truly has beauty.
Immortals: They've killed at least twenty of us over the centuries. Fight without mercy, kill without mercy. And fight with help; they're deadly when cornered.
