They also begin with one dot in a new advantage, The Gold. This is a Discipline-like advantage, and most rolls will be Willpower + The Gold at a difficulty of 6.
These backgrounds are taken from the Demon Hunter X sourcebook. Note that, unless a character is a Strikeforce Zero agent, he must use Willpower to fuel his Cyberware and Wetware, instead of Chi. See chapter three for more details on these backgrounds.
This background enables the character to get hold of special equipment that they would not usually have access to. This usually means that the character has ties with some kind of patron organisation that can provide this equipment.
* | Can get special equipment within one day, but must fill out all of the required forms. |
** | Can get special equipment in a matter of hours, but still has to fill out all the required forms. |
*** | Can get special equipment in a day, no forms required. |
**** | Can get special equipment within two hours, no forms required. |
***** | The folks in the lab drop everything to accommodate the character. |
Arsenal
This background shows how many pieces of cyber- or wetware a character has. It costs three freebies per dot instead of the usual two. Note that SF0 agents automatically have two implants. Each Implant after the first two costs one Humanity. Each level of this background gives the character 1 implant.
* | The character is aware of The Gold at a basic level. It provides a power equivalent to the Kindred discipline of Level 1 Fortitude, allowing the character to soak aggravated damage. |
** | At this level, the character's Fortitude raises to Level 2. |
*** | The character begins to feel the powers of The Gold more clearly now, and begins to manifest her powers. The player may choose any power she likes, subject to Storyteller approval, at a level equivalent to a discipline rating of 2. |
**** | The power level reaches 3. Also, The Gold begins to manifest a side effect that, while not detrimental to the character, could be annoying. |
***** | The side effect becomes more intense, possibly starting to cause minor harm to the character. The power level increases to 4. |
