New Hunter: The Reckoning section in the works
The most popular question of the day lately has been, "Are you going to have a separate Hunter: The Reckoning section?" The answer is yes, but thus far I haven't received any submissions. I also haven't picked up the book yet, so I'm not even sure what categories there will be.
Self-serving kudos ;)
Mailing list name changes
My mailing lists were scooped up by at least one mail bombing program, so I've been forced to change the addresses of my mailing lists once again. If you were subscribed under the old list addresses, you are still subscribed under the new ones. The lists have changed as follows:Old | New |
adashiel_general | bjz-all
|
adashiel_vampire | bjz-vampire
|
adashiel_werewolf | bjz-werewolf
|
adashiel_mage | bjz-mage
|
adashiel_wraith | bjz-wraith
|
adashiel_changeling | bjz-changeling
|
adashiel_potpourri | bjz-potpourri
|
adashiel_bjzhtml | bjz-html
|
To unsubscribe to any of these lists, send mail to majordomo@indiana.edu. In the BODY of the message (NOT the Subject line or anywhere else), enter the following:
unsubscribe <list name>
Replace <list name> with the name of the list (e.g., bjz-all, bjz-potpourri, bjz-vampire, etc.) you want to unsubscribe from. Be ABSOLUTELY certain when you do this you are not only sending mail from a valid address, but that this address is the one you are currently subscribed from. If this confuses you in any way, do NOT attempt to unsubscribe. Send me e-mail (adashiel@indiana.edu) and ask for help.
My e-mail address has changed -- again!
In order to take advantage of our IMAP server, I've had to change my e-mail address again. It's currently adashiel@indiana.edu. My former address on Steel still works, but the one before that, Copper, has been retired. To clarify, mail sent to adashiel@steel.ucs.indiana.edu will get to me, but mail sent to adashiel@copper.ucs.indiana.edu will not.
Bad Links: Wanted, dead or, er, dead. Reward!
If you run into a broken link to my site, be it from one of my pages or from a different site entirely, you'll find yourself at a "Black Screen of Death" or sorts. It's a mailto form that lets you report the bad address and also the site and/or page that linked you to it. If you use that form or send me e-mail about the incident, it'll help me clean up any broken links that may be out there. More importantly, if you are the first person to report a bad link as well as the address that referred you to it, I'll list your name in a kudos section on this page!Obviously, if you mistype a URL or if your personal bookmark file is out of date, you don't need to report that. However, if you need help finding a certain file, let me know and I'll try to help you out.
As always, I also encourage you to report bad links from my Other Sites section. Btw, I'll be updating those pages in the next week or so. A little further down the road I plan on doing a major spring (winter?) cleaning to clear out the mounds of link rot that's been collecting there.

Improved image download time, thanks to Tzuriel!
Endless showers of praise to Tzuriel, for his work on compressing the site's images! After scouring their palettes of unused colors, he managed to dramatically reduce the size of all the GIF files. Some are less than 25% their original size and most are less than half. Woo Hoo!
New "Miscellaneous" pages
I've added "Miscellaneous" pages to the Vampire, Werewolf, Mage, Wraith and Changeling sections. They're there to provide homes for submissions that I previously didn't have good places for. I've also slightly broadened the definition of what constitutes an entry appropriate for the archive. See my Submission Guide for details.
